The U.S. authorities have introduced tariffs of 25 percent on a number of goods from the European Union, the United Kingdom, and four other countries. This decision was made as part of retaliatory measures related to subsidies for commercial aircraft manufacturing. The assessments concerned production from graphic, cosmetic, and other sectors of industry.
"We hope that we can achieve a mutually agreed solution with the EU regarding the subsidization of the commercial aircraft industry," the U.S. Trade Administration commented.
