Having concluded only a few days of intense debates, Democratic leader in the Senate Chuck Schumer closed the crisis on Thursday evening, stating that he advocates for the passage of the proposed legislation. "I am not inclined to this legislation, but I believe that the beginning of the closing of the government will be the worst option, given the rapid actions of Trump and his advisor Elon Musk on budget cuts," he added.

According to information from the Reuters agency, the U.S. Senate approved a temporary budget bill to avoid a partial government shutdown, after Democrats changed their position concerning the presidential campaign of Donald Trump regarding the reduction in the number of federal employees. As a result of the voting in the Senate, 54 senators voted for the proposed legislation, while 46 opposed it.

"I am not inclined to this legislation, but I believe that the beginning of the closing of the government will be the worst option," Schumer emphasized.
