US Gasoline Price Reaches $4.10 per Gallon

The price of gasoline in the US continues to rise, reaching $4.10 per gallon. According to data from the AAA automobile association, the national average stood at $4.104, representing a growth of over 37% since the US and Israel began the war against Iran on February 28. The war in the Middle East continues to drive up gasoline prices in the US, particularly due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, through which one-fifth of the world's oil supply and a significant portion of natural gas pass. California is the state where refueling is most expensive: a gallon of gasoline now costs $5.90. It is followed by Hawaii, where it is at $5.50, and the state of Washington, where it is at $5.30. States in the central part of the country have lower figures, with some of them below $3.50 per gallon. The price of gasoline surpassed the $4-per-gallon psychological barrier for the first time since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. At that time, the fuel exceeded $5 per gallon for a week. The price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil closed the session on Thursday above $100 per barrel. Futures contracts for May, the benchmark in the US, surged by 11% to $111.54 per barrel at the end of the last trading week. US President Donald Trump threatened Iran again on Saturday, reminding them that there are '48 hours' left to meet the ultimatum to open the Strait of Hormuz or face attacks on its energy facilities. 'Remember when I gave Iran ten days to reach a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz? Time is up: 48 hours until hell is unleashed upon them.'
