The United States and Argentina have agreed on a framework to deepen trade and investment. The key point of the agreement, confirmed by the White House, is that Argentina "will accept the importation of vehicles manufactured in the United States under U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and U.S. emissions standards." This effectively eliminates the costly barrier of "local certification" that had hindered the arrival of most of these models. The agreement benefits not only U.S. brands but any vehicle produced in that country, regardless of brand. According to a Cars.com report ("American-Made Index 2025"), 99 vehicle models (plus their variants) are now technically eligible for sale in Argentina under the same conditions as in the U.S. The Top 10 includes: Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y, Tesla Model S, Tesla Model X, Jeep Gladiator (pickup), and Volkswagen ID.4 (an electric SUV). Major winners include Honda and Toyota, which have a massive industrial presence in the U.S. The agreement also opens the door for Korean and German luxury brands that manufacture their most popular models in the U.S. for export. The ranking also features models such as the Jeep Wrangler, Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Corvette, Ford F-150, RAM 1500, Ford Bronco, and Ford Mustang.
