In the Yavapai County, a Phoenix mailer was destroyed, intended for voting in the presidential elections in the key state, which led to the destruction of several select ballots and other letters.

Rob MacDade, a representative of the fire department, reported that 20 select ballots were lost in the fire, however, later the Secretary of State of Arizona Adrian Fontes clarified that only 5 ballots were damaged.

Tracking systems show whether the selected ballots were received for voting or not. In the case of the lost select ballots, they can request a new ballot by mail until Friday, October 25.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and the main postal inspector is examining the contents of the mailbox, however, no motives for the incident have been established yet.
