
President Claudia Sheinbaum lamented the death of six Mexicans in the tragic air incident that occurred in Philadelphia, United States. In a message published on her official social media, she expressed her solidarity with the affected families and highlighted the active collaboration between Mexico and the United States through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE).
Consular authorities are in constant contact with the victims' families and have requested the SRE to provide all necessary support in this situation. The aircraft involved, a Learjet 55 with a Mexican registration, belonged to the air ambulance company Jet Rescue, based in New Mexico and operating in both countries.
According to information from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the tragic event took place on Friday night when the aircraft crashed just 40 seconds after taking off from Philadelphia Airport en route to Springfield, Missouri. The accident occurred in northeast Philadelphia, near an intersection in the urban area of the city.
Images shared on social media captured the exact moment when the aircraft plummeted near Roosevelt Mall in northeast Philadelphia, with multiple victims reported. The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated by the relevant authorities, while efforts are underway to clarify the reasons behind the tragedy.
