Super Bowl Celebration Turns Tragic in Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Eagles celebrated their victory in the Super Bowl 2025 final with a parade in Philadelphia on February 14. Two people were injured in a shooting that took place during the celebration, which traveled through the city from the south, where the Eagles play, to City Hall and the art museum.

During the parade, a heavy police presence was observed along the route, with side streets blocked by trucks and heavy machinery. The reasons for the shooting, which left two people injured, remain unknown, according to reports from the New York Post and FOX10 News.

This year, the Eagles' parade was postponed due to low temperatures in the city. The team was celebrating its victory in Super Bowl LIX with a score of 40-22 over the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the festivities ended in tragedy with the shooting that occurred during the event.

The incident took place at 23rd and Spring Garden streets, near the parade route. The victims, two women, were treated and are in stable condition, according to CBS reports. This is not the first shooting to occur at an NFL champions parade recently, as last year the Chiefs also experienced a similar situation after winning the championship.

Fans camped out along the route the night before the parade to secure the best spots. During the celebration, quarterback Jalen Hurts and team owner Jeffrey Lurie lifted the Vince Lombardi Trophy on stage next to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Despite the tragedy, the festivities continued, and the city closed schools and courts for the occasion.
