A 32-year-old individual was arrested after stealing 'diamond earrings' valued at $770,000 from a Tiffany & Co. store located in a shopping mall in Orlando, Florida, United States. The robbery took place the previous Wednesday when the suspect posed as a buyer interested in jewelry for a member of the Orlando Magic.

The individual entered the VIP room of the store and took advantage of a distraction to grab the earrings and flee. Although a merchant attempted to intercept him, he managed to escape. However, when he was finally apprehended, officers discovered that the suspect had ingested the jewelry in an attempt to hide it.

During his escape, the thief left behind a diamond ring valued at $587,000. X-rays later revealed the location of the earrings in the individual's digestive tract. Authorities were able to track him down thanks to surveillance cameras that captured the license plate of his vehicle while he was returning to Texas.

Currently, the suspect is detained in Orange County, Florida, facing charges of first-degree grand theft and robbery with a mask, classified as a third-degree felony. So far, he has not appointed an attorney for his defense, and it has not been communicated whether the stolen jewelry has been recovered.
