Senator from the Republican Party of the USA John Thune was elected to the position of majority leader in the Senate for the previous two years.
Senator Thune, representing the state of South Dakota, occupies one of the key roles in the passage of decisions in the upper chamber of the U.S. Congress. His selection came after newly appointed elections among members of the Republican Party. Creating a press release for his party, Thune expressed readiness to work with Democrats on important national issues.
