The administration of national road safety in the USA reported that as a result of studies conducted over the past years, it was found that the use of mobile phones while driving is one of the main reasons for road transport incidents. This includes both phone conversations and sending messages.
A high percentage of accidents every year is linked to distracted driving caused by the use of smartphones at the wheel. Calls, text messages, social media browsing, or other activities with smartphones reduce attention while driving, leading to potentially serious consequences.
The deputy administrator of the agency noted: "Drivers must understand that even a brief use of a mobile phone while driving can lead to dangerous situations on the road. No call or message is worth a potential human life."
Based on this data, experts recommend that drivers use special applications or devices that allow them to stay connected without diverting attention from the road.
