Tom Homan, the new acting director for immigration enforcement, appointed by former President Donald Trump, outlined details of the administration's plans to combat illegal immigration in the U.S.
According to Homan, the administration's strategy includes strengthening borders, tightening rules regarding those who violate the law, and expanding opportunities for internal security.
"We cannot give a false promise that absolutely everyone who crosses the border illegally will be deported, but we have to demonstrate that we are serious about enforcing the law," Homan noted.
According to him, the Trump administration is also determined to tighten measures of punitive accountability for employers who hire illegal immigrants and create conditions for a more effective return of illegal immigrants home.
"We must utilize all the tools at our disposal to protect our population and society," Homan concluded.
