Trump's New Administration Team for 'America First' Policies

Elected President Donald Trump has begun selecting the people who will implement his 'America First' policies. Some of these selections are likely to take very strong stances against China. Among them is Senator Marco Rubio, who is expected to serve as Secretary of State, and Congressman Mike Waltz, who will act as National Security Advisor. Many of these appointees currently hold positions in the House of Representatives, which could impact the narrow majority of Trump’s new administration.

One of those chosen by Trump is Marco Rubio, who will be the Secretary of State for the United States. Rubio, who ran against Trump but later became one of his main supporters in the Senate, will focus on implementing Trump’s immigration policies, including mass deportations of undocumented immigrants.

Another selectee is Elise Stefanik, designated as Ambassador to the UN. Trump described her as a strong and smart advocate of the 'America First' principle. Stefanik was one of the Republican representatives who voted against certifying Joe Biden's victory in 2020 and early on supported Trump’s third candidacy.

Tom Homan was selected as the Border Czar. During Trump’s first term, Homan was the visible face of the 'zero tolerance' immigration policies. Kristi Noem has also been appointed as Secretary of Homeland Security; she admitted to having killed her own dog and will be the first woman to hold this position.

Another selectee is Mike Waltz, National Security Advisor, a former Green Beret and combat veteran in Afghanistan. Lastly, Susie Wiles will be the White House Chief of Staff, bringing stability to the Trump administration. Wiles has criticized the Pentagon on various issues and is also known for her critical stance towards China.
