The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has pointed out businessman Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, for having worked illegally in the country. Amid the presidential race that will culminate in November and with Musk's support for Republican candidate Donald Trump, this accusation has sparked controversy.
Biden expressed his surprise by saying that Musk, who should have been studying on a student visa, was actually working illegally. Musk, for his part, responded through a post on his social media, calling Biden a "lying tyrant."
The businessman clarified that he initially had a J-1 visa for foreign students, which turned into an H-1B temporary work visa. It is noteworthy that Musk has donated over $75 million to Trump's reelection campaign and has taken actions to promote voter registration and support for free speech and the right to bear arms, positions characterized by the Republican Party.
Despite these accusations from Biden, Musk has been committed to Trump's campaign and has made substantial donations; however, the claims regarding his work and educational status have caused controversy in the current political landscape.
