The retired Navy general, who worked in the White House for Trump from 2017 to 2019, has long been critical of the former president. In previous statements, he accused him of disparaging deceased combat veterans. Another military figure, retired Army General Mark A. Milley, who served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs during Trump's administration, described him as "fascist to the core" and "the most dangerous person for this country" in Bob Woodward's recent book, "War."
The Vice President and presidential candidate in the United States, Kamala Harris, has labeled her Republican opponent and former president, Donald Trump, as a "fascist," according to recent international media reports. Other criticisms of the magnate have emerged from the chief of staff with the longest tenure under Trump, who recalled Trump's praise for Adolf Hitler during his term.
In interviews published Tuesday in The New York Times and The Atlantic, Harris emphasized comments made by her former boss John Kelly, a retired Marine Corps general who was the head of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff. Kelly warned that Trump fits the definition of fascist and suggested that Hitler "did some good things" while in office.
Harris reaffirmed her criticisms in an open forum on CNN, where when asked if she considered Trump a fascist, she affirmed it twice. She stated that Trump poses a danger to the security and well-being of the United States, and that the people deserve a president who upholds certain standards, excluding any admire comparison with Hitler.
Additionally, she warned that if Trump were reelected, he would act recklessly, unleashing his worst impulses without being restrained by people who hold him back. Kelly also offered comments supporting how Trump praised "Hitler's generals" while he was president and spoke with him.
