The former President of the United States and presidential candidate, Donald Trump, has recently been criticized by a former chief of staff, John Kelly, who described him as "dictatorial," "fascist," and lacking empathy. Kelly, who served in the National Guard and was Trump's chief of staff from 2017 to 2019, stated that the former president has a preference for a dictatorial approach in his governance.
According to Kelly, Trump expressed at some point his desire to have military generals like those Adolf Hitler had. In an interview, Kelly mentioned that Trump had indicated his interest in having Nazi generals, to which he responded by mentioning Bismarck's generals and expressing his concern about it.
These statements from Kelly have generated reactions, particularly from Democrats who view him as a high-profile official who has gone through the White House and who now openly critiques Trump. Kelly also asserted that Trump is unfit to be president again, arguing that Trump "admired dictators" and expressing concern over his extremist tendencies.
In response to these accusations, Trump's campaign advisor, Alex Pfeiffer, has denied Kelly's claims, calling them "absolutely false." Pfeiffer also questioned Kelly's knowledge of certain historical aspects related to military generals, discrediting his concerns.
