The Vice President of the United States and Democratic candidate for the White House, Kamala Harris, celebrates her 60th birthday this Sunday in Georgia, a crucial state in the final stretch of the electoral campaign. Harris, born on October 20, 1964, in Oakland (California), has a political agenda for this day that includes attending a mass in Stonecrest and participating in a campaign event in Jonesboro, both locations in Georgia, where the competition with her rival, former Republican President Donald Trump, is tight.
While Kamala Harris attends her commitments in Georgia, her husband, the Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, is in Michigan campaigning in support of the Democratic candidacy. The advanced age of the candidates was a central theme during the electoral campaign, especially with current President Joe Biden, the oldest candidate in U.S. presidential history at 81 years old, who decided not to seek reelection and support Harris's candidacy.
Harris, of Indian and Jamaican descent, seeks to make history by becoming the first female President of the United States after the elections on November 5. In 2021, she already made history by becoming the first female Vice President of the country, as well as the first African American and of Indian descent to hold this position. Before joining Biden's ticket, Harris served as California's Attorney General and as a Senator from the same state.
