The President of the United States, Donald Trump, threatened on Sunday to impose 50% tariffs on Chinese imports if Beijing provides arms to Iran. The head of state issued this warning during an interview with Fox News after the CNN network revealed that US intelligence believes the Chinese government is preparing to deliver surface-to-air missile systems to Tehran. «I doubt they would do it, because I have a (good) relationship with them and I think they wouldn't,» said Trump, who added: «But if we catch them doing that, we will impose a 50% tariff, which is an amazing amount».On Saturday, in a press statement at the White House, he had already warned that «if China does that, China will have big problems».Trump is scheduled to travel to Beijing in May to meet with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.The delegations of the United States and Iran left Islamabad on Sunday without an agreement to end their conflict after more than 20 hours of meeting, which was the highest-level face-to-face between the two countries since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
