Trump Calls on Countries to Reopen the Strait of Hormuz

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that America will not help countries that did not support his military operation against Iran. He called on them to act with courage and independently reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which was closed by Tehran, leading to rising oil prices and the risk of a global crisis.

Trump Calls on Countries to Reopen the Strait of Hormuz

The United States will not be there to help you anymore, just as they were not available when we needed them,” lamented Trump. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt recalled that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is part of the main objectives of the military offensive against Iran, which Washington has been carrying out together with Israel for over a month, as the priority is to end the naval, missile, and nuclear development capabilities of the Tehran regime. Trump has reiterated that the United States is not interested in the Strait of Hormuz, as it does not meet most of its energy needs from the Persian Gulf. Although he decided to start this war against Iran along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, it now falls to other countries to carry out the complex and risky task of forcing the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz with attacks on oil tankers and has only allowed the passage of some tankers near its coasts as a tactic to exert global economic pressure during the conflict, which has led to the price of oil exceeding $100 a barrel and putting the world on the brink of an unprecedented economic and energy crisis. U.S. President Donald Trump called on the countries that have refused to join his military offensive against Iran to act with “courage” and “take” the Strait of Hormuz: “The most complicated part is already done. Go get your oil,” he insisted in a post on Truth Social. “To all those countries that cannot get aviation fuel because of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion: First, buy (oil) from the United States, we have plenty; and second, find some belated courage and go to the strait and TAKE IT,” Trump assured this morning on the social network. Trump suggested that after launching the military offensive against Iran on February 28th alongside Israel and without consulting with its allies, the United States has no interest in opening the Strait of Hormuz, which Tehran closed to important maritime traffic from the Persian Gulf, because it is less exposed to the crude oil coming from that region. “Iran has been essentially annihilated. Go get the oil,” Trump recommended, in a message that can also be read as a warning to his NATO allies or in Asia, which are increasingly affected by the detention of the flow of oil, liquefied gas, and other essential raw materials from the Middle East. Trump warns that ‘the US will not help you anymore’: ‘You have to learn to fight for yourselves. The most complicated part is already done.’
