US Destroys Boat in Caribbean, Four Crew Members Die

The United States announced the destruction of a boat allegedly linked to drug trafficking structures in international waters of the Caribbean, stating that the four crew members of the vessel lost their lives.

The U.S. Southern Command announced the outcome of the operation carried out in the Caribbean with a video posted on its official X account.

There were four people on board the vessel, whom the Southern Command described as 'narcoterrorists' without announcing their identities and accompanied the announcement with a video of the moment of the attack.

This incident is part of Operation 'Lanza del Sur', launched last September in the area of responsibility of the Southern Command. Its primary objective was to increase tension around former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, captured in a Washington military operation on January 3.

With today's offensive, there have been more than 40 bombings against alleged drug boats in the Pacific and the southern Caribbean. These summary attacks have left more than 150 dead since September 2025.
