Trump Sues BBC for Defamation

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has filed a defamation lawsuit against the British BBC, accusing it of having deceptively edited one of his speeches in relation to the riots that occurred at the Capitol. According to press reports, Trump is demanding compensation of at least $5 billion for damages, learned the Argentine News Agency. The head of state made harsh statements to journalists in the Oval Office, just before formally filing the legal action. Trump stated that the channel altered the content of his words to manipulate the original message: 'Literally, they put words in my mouth. They made me say things I never said when I came out of the closet,' he declared. The lawsuit focuses on the accusation that the BBC manipulated a recording of a speech, creating a false narrative about the president's involvement in the events at the Capitol.
