During a press conference on Tuesday, Karoline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary, stated that the United States is aware of the murder of Carlos Manzo, mayor of Uruapan, who was killed on Saturday. In the same vein, the spokesperson for President Donald Trump condemned 'political violence' on Mexican territory. 'The Trump administration is aware of this and, of course, we condemn all political violence anywhere and in all its forms,' Leavitt stated. Leavitt also alluded to a great respect from Donald Trump for his Mexican counterpart, thanking her for the coordination she has provided on anti-drug policy, which is the basis for the government led by the American magnate. 'We condemn all political violence anywhere and in all its forms,' she concluded. The White House's position came after an inquiry to the U.S. government by the American NBC network, which claimed that Trump plans to launch military drone strikes on Mexican territory with the aim of dismantling drug cartels' labs operating in the country. Sheinbaum is being harassed by a man who kissed and touched her while she was walking in downtown CDMX. Regarding the said operation on Mexican soil, President Claudia Sheinbaum responded on Tuesday that it 'is not going to happen,' reaffirming the agreements established with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and assuring they would continue to work in cooperation under mutual respect for territory. 'And we will continue to work within that framework of understanding,' Sheinbaum stated during her morning press conference. Likewise, the head of state affirmed that Donald Trump has offered to send troops to fight crime and that she has always refused.
