On Thursday, it is expected that the United States and the United Kingdom will announce the resumption of passenger air travel between the countries, suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is reported that an agreement on mutual recognition of vaccines was achieved as a result of intensive consultations between the two countries.
Each side recognizes vaccination from the other side, allowing travelers to avoid quarantine when crossing the border. It is clarified that this decision is limited only to vaccines that have been approved by the authorities of both countries.
Among such vaccines that will be recognized by both countries, it is expected that the vaccines produced by Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, and Moderna will be included. It is emphasized that the agreement on mutual recognition of vaccines will help restore international passenger traffic and facilitate travel between the United Kingdom and the United States.
