US Designates Haitian Gang Alliance as Threat

On Friday, the U.S. classified the Haitian alliance of strong gangs 'G9 an san' as a terrorist organization. According to the government's Department of Homeland Security, this alliance is a source of violence, which poses a threat to the stability and security of Haiti.

A representative of this department noted that 'G9 an san' is considered a criminal organization involved in illegal arms trafficking, drug trafficking, and the kidnapping of people. In connection with this decision, the U.S. intends to take additional measures to combat this terrorist threat in the region.

However, the leaders of the 'G9 an san' alliance disagreed with the similar accusation and called it a slander against the people of Haiti. They assert that their activities are aimed at protecting the community from the government-led violence and corruption.
