On Thursday, a U.S. court ordered six federal agencies to reinstate thousands of employees who were dismissed by the administration of President Donald Trump under a program to reduce the size of the government. The ruling pertains primarily to actions taken in the field of environmental protection, which had been undermined at that time like other federal subdivisions continued to operate.
According to the judge, last year's Trump directive on mishandling agency work is deemed unlawful. By implementing this program, the presidential administration violated the constitution and contravened the law on procurement.
"This directive has a harmful effect on workers and the structure of the government, and its application was illegal," the judge stated. According to the court ruling, specialists employed in these agencies should be reinstated to their previous positions with full compensation for lost time and possibly with other compensations.
According to the given appellate court, the program to reduce the size of the Trump administration led to the dismissal of more than two million employees in the public sector in 2020. This directive altered the hiring system and required a reassessment of many federal programs, which caused significant insecurity among agency workers.
