The administration of President Donald Trump presented today, on Monday, a new application that allows illegal immigrants in the United States to 'self-deport' instead of risking detention and being held under custody.
The U.S. Border Patrol and Customs Service stated that their new application offers an individual option for people expressing a 'desire to leave.' The Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristen Nielsen, stated in the announcement that 'the Border Patrol and Customs Service application provides foreign nationals the option to depart now and self-deport, so that, potentially, they still may have a chance to return legally in the future and live the American dream.'
Such an approach was implemented in place of another application, launched during the administration of former President Joe Biden. Biden's application proposed a function that allowed potentially millions of migrants in Mexico to be recorded for entry through official borders. 'If they do not do this, we find them, deport them, and they will not return,' Trump added.
