On Sunday, the U.S. Secretary of Trade, Wilbur Ross, announced: President Donald Trump is not planning to ease the pressure in relations with regard to the customs duties imposed on Mexico, Canada, and China in connection with their actions on fentanyl control.
He emphasized that the Trump administration is determined to continue the decisive fight against the production and widespread of the dangerous synthetic opioid, which is widely used in the U.S. and around the world.
Russia also expressed hope that China would take serious coordinated action against fentanyl producers and traffickers, stressing that if this does not happen, the U.S. will be forced to take its own national security measures.
Speaking at an event dedicated to the fight against drug trafficking, the minister made a point of the importance of close cooperation between countries to prevent the spread of fentanyl and its analogs, which cause massive dependence and narcotic addiction.
