On Thursday, the Federal Bureau investigated the arrest of an American soldier on suspicion of selling secret information about residents of China, as reported by the Justice Department.
Details of the mysterious operation remain classified, however, officials assert that the detained serviceman is a source of confidential information, transferred illegally.
"This incident underscores the need for constant vigilance regarding leaks of secrets and the protection of national interests of the country," stated a spokesperson for the Justice Department.
While the identification of the suspect has not been disclosed, it remains unknown what exactly he could have passed and what mechanism was used for their transfer.
