The Senate, controlled by Republicans, approved on Thursday the appointment of Kesh Patel as the Director of the Office of Budget Management in the White House.
Patel received support from the majority of Senate members after the hearing concluded. He stated that his main goal would be effective management of federal finances and budgets.
"I am deeply honored by the trust and support I received today from the Senate. If confirmed to this position, I will strive to implement my program to improve the country's financial standing, ensure an effective budgeting process, and provide fiscal accountability," he emphasized.
Kesh Patel worked as a consultant on budget issues for various congressional committees and senior officials. Before starting his career in politics, he taught mathematics in California schools.
