A third of the Democrats in the House of Representatives of the U.S. signed a letter to President Donald Trump, urging him to refrain from "dangerous statements" about the Gaza sector. The signatories, among whom were 143 out of 215 Democrats led by Kazen Shona and Shirman Bred, expressed concern about the potential call for the deportation of two million people. In the letter, it states: "We are concerned that the president's call for the deportation and constant evacuation of two million people is not only morally unacceptable but also poses a threat to the United States' status as a global power, endangering American forces and increasing terrorism." The signatories also noted that Trump's statements "risk the possibility of the U.S. working with our Arab partners to restore Gaza and achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict with Israel."
