U.S. President Donald Trump stated that, despite the fact that the United Kingdom is "beyond the framework" on some issues.
Trump emphasized that the relationship between the U.S. and the United Kingdom remains strong, but expressed his concern about the deal made between London and France with the multinational company Thales Group.
"I am concerned that the United Kingdom is dealing with a French state company, at the same time as we can offer better and more reliable technologies," Trump said.
Meanwhile, a representative of the British government stressed that such remarks from Trump could undermine trade and military relations between the two countries.
Trump and the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson plan to hold talks on this issue in the near future.
