International organizations express concern over the decision of US President Donald Trump to withdraw the country from the World Health Organization (WHO), said the European Commission on Tuesday. According to the words of a representative of the Commission, this decision poses serious risks and leaves the world without a key player in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. EU representatives expressed hope for a prompt resolution of this situation in the interests of public health. In turn, the WHO stated that the US decision is harmful for everyone. They emphasized the importance of international cooperation in the field of health and pledged to continue working independently of the withdrawal of one of the largest donors of the organization. "We deeply regret the decision of the United States to withdraw its membership in the World Health Organization. At a time when the virus knows no borders, making such decisions – this is not what makes the world healthier," remarked the WHO representative after the announcement of the Trump administration.
