FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented the trophy that will be awarded to the winner of the 2025 Club World Cup, an innovative and symbolic creation in collaboration with Tiffany & Co. Describing it as "prestigious and timeless," Infantino emphasized that the design symbolizes the globality and inclusion of the tournament, combining elements of football's history and future.
The trophy, plated in 24-karat gold, features laser engravings that reflect the diversity of football, representing the pinnacle of club football. "Few are chosen, but many celebrate," highlighting the legacy and prestige that future champions of this tournament will achieve.
The Club World Cup will feature participation from 32 teams and will take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13, 2025. The draw will be held on December 5, 2024, in Miami, with a total of 63 matches to be played in 12 venues across the country.
The design of the trophy incorporates elements of astronomy, such as the positions of the planets in 1904, the founding year of FIFA, and in 2025, the year the Club World Cup begins, merging past and present in a design that simulates celestial orbits. With the ability to engrave the emblems of the champion clubs from the 24 editions of the tournament, the trophy stands as a symbol of greatness.
Details such as a world map, the names of the 211 member federations of FIFA, the six confederations, and text in thirteen languages, including Braille, capture the geographical and cultural essence of the sport in this trophy. Inspired by the golden discs sent into space in the 1970s by NASA, the design also includes a message for the champions: "History belongs to those who lift this trophy!"
