Gross noted that this is "a very good start for the original horror film, not affiliated with the series," adding that the critic referred to the film as "excellent."

At the top, holding the first position, is the sci-fi film "Venom: Let There Be Carnage," which earned $16.2 million over the weekend. The total box office for the film in Canada and the USA surpassed $114.8 million.
