In December 2024, a 33‑year‑old woman was arrested for placing razor blades in loaves of bread sold at two Walmart stores in Blue Eye, Mississippi. Customers first reported finding a blade in a loaf purchased from the Super Center on December 5, and a second discovery was made at the Neighborhood Market on December 8. Police investigated the incidents and found several other loaves had been tampered with. The authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the woman’s actions.
"Customers reported finding razor blades in the bread," said Blue Eye Police Officer Lieutenant Candace Young. "We investigated and found several other loaves were also tampered with."
The case has raised concerns about food safety and product tampering at large retail chains. Authorities are working to identify any additional affected stores and ensure customer safety.
