At least 14 people have died due to a severe winter storm that struck the South USA. The storm impacted regions, causing destruction and leading to the deaths of several individuals.
Main affected areas include Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Strong winds, snow accumulations, and rain have resulted in serious consequences for local residents.
"The situation is extremely serious. We are working to the limit of our capabilities to assist the affected and restore damaged areas," said a spokesperson for emergency services.
Local authorities urge residents to heed warnings and follow rescue instructions. Currently, assessments of damage and the provision of aid to those in need are ongoing.
