In the central-eastern United States, floods and storms caused by extreme weather conditions have left at least nine dead, including eight in Kentucky, according to Governor Andy Beshear. Since the storms began on Saturday, more than 1,000 rescues have been made and about 39,000 homes are without electricity. This situation may worsen due to strong winds, Beshear warned.

The Northern Plains have experienced deadly cold, while severe storms have battered parts of Florida and Georgia, according to reports from the National Weather Service. The governor stated that this is one of the most severe climate events in at least a decade, urging residents to stay away from roads.

As a precaution, a state of emergency was declared in the state before the arrival of the storms, and President Donald Trump approved the request for disaster relief assistance. The Xinhua news agency reported this measure. Overall, a large part of the United States is being affected by a new round of winter conditions.
