American stocks showed mixed movement on Thursday following the publication of data on production prices and unemployment.
The Dow Jones index fell by 0.1%, while the S&P 500 rose by 0.1%. The technology index Nasdaq also declined by 0.1%.
Some experts believe that the data on production prices indicates rising inflation. According to analysts, this trend may influence the decisions of the Federal Reserve regarding changes in interest rates.
"We see that the data on production prices continue to surprise us, and this may accelerate discussions on when to start reducing the asset purchase program," explained one of the experts.
The release of jobless claims, in turn, fell to 366,000 last week. Economists were expecting a significantly lower figure, 350,000, which raised certain risks against the backdrop of the recovering labor market.
