Amazon Surpasses Earnings Estimates

Amazon announced that it has surpassed market expectations for earnings in the last quarter, reflecting continued growth for the company in a competitive environment.

Amazon's company exceeded market expectations in the fourth quarter. The revenue in the first quarter of 2021 amounted to 108.5 billion dollars, compared to the expected 104.5 billion dollars. This became possible due to increased demand for online shopping during the pandemic.

Amazon's profit also surpassed projections, totaling 8.1 billion dollars, which is higher than the expected 4.98 billion dollars. The growth in the company's revenue is explained by high demand for subscription services, advertising services, and online-trade.

Amazon's Vice President for Finance, Brian Olsavsky, noted: "We are pleased with the results of the first quarter and observed growth across all segments of the business." He also added that the company expects further increase in revenue in the upcoming quarters.
