Kamala Harris's campaign team and affiliated Democratic groups raised about $633 million during the last quarter, bringing their total to more than $1 billion. This gives them a significant financial advantage over Republican candidate Donald Trump in the final stretch of the presidential election.
About 6 million donors made over 13.1 million contributions to Harris, including 4.3 million people who donated for the first time in this election cycle. The vice president's team highlighted the support of celebrities who significantly contributed to boosting donations.
Harris's team alone spent more than they raised last month, disbursing around $270 million to push for an intense advertising campaign that reached voters through various means, such as radio, television, the internet, and billboards.
Harris's campaign and its affiliates entered October with $346 million in cash, according to federal filings. In contrast, Trump's campaign team, the Republican National Committee, and affiliated groups reported raising $160 million in September.
Harris's campaign raised $222 million in September, highlighting the strong financial support garnered from events in California and New York. Harris received $55 million in a fundraising weekend in California, as well as $27 million in San Francisco, with the presence of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, among others.
Despite not disclosing her quarterly fundraising, it was reported that 95% of Harris's donations during that period were under $200. Additionally, an event in Los Angeles raised $28 million with the presence of celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Lily Tomlin, and Stevie Wonder.
