Container Shipping Volumes between US and China Decline

Between the USA and China, the number of container shipments is increasing, Maersk stated today in a report. According to the company's representative, there is an increase in cargo volume between the two countries, which indicates a recovery of global trade after the COVID-19 pandemic. This suggests a gradual recovery of the global economy following the difficulties caused by the pandemic. As demand for goods rises due to the easing of restrictions and recovery of supply, the number of containers transported between the USA and China is increasing. "We observe an increase in the number of transported containers between North America and Asia, particularly between the USA and China. This indicates that trade is starting to return to normal," the Maersk representative noted. Despite the challenges posed by the post-pandemic economy, the expansion of freight volume with major trading partners is seen as a positive signal for the global economy.
