According to the report from the newspaper, referring to the data from the U.S. International Trade Administration, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the number of tourists from Germany decreased by 28%. Experts assert that if this trend continues, it will lead to a loss for the tourism industry in the United States in the billions of dollars.
Data showed a decrease in March 2025 of 17% in the number of tourists from Western Europe, 24% from Central America, and 11% from China. Foreign tourists are experiencing delays due to a series of hold-ups upon entry into the United States, including cases of denial of entry to German citizens who had full documentation. In some cases, individuals were held in shelters for deportation for days or even weeks.
The number of foreign tourists visiting the U.S. decreased by 12% in March of this year compared to the same period last year, according to data from the newspaper "Washington Post" from Friday.
