The process of reassessment of the activities of the US Agency for International Development is underway under the direction of the administration of President Donald Trump. It is planned to send all agency employees to all over the world, except for a few workers, on paid administrative leave. In addition, about 2000 positions will be eliminated in the US.

One of the representatives of the administration stated: "We are ready to support the transition to free the Agency’s mission from work in countries where it has been shown that there are other instruments and other sources of funding to continue these types of programs."
