The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will take place this Friday at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The event will be covered live by the Agencia Noticias Argentinas (NA).
The participating national teams will be divided into four pots, with 12 teams in each pot.
Pot 1 will include teams from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. Argentina, placed in this pot, will be seeded in its group and will avoid top-tier teams at least until the knockout stages.
Pot 2 presents a significant threat, with Morocco, which reached the semi-finals in the last World Cup. Pot 3 also raises some concerns, mainly due to Norway.
Pot 4 consists of teams such as Jordan, Cape Verde, Ghana, CuraƧao, Haiti, and New Zealand. It will also include the winners of various intercontinental playoffs (repechajes). One of the major football powers, like Italy, could be placed in this pot and will have to play in the playoffs at the beginning of next year.
