Clintons to Testify in Epstein Case

Former US President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, will testify this Thursday and Friday before a House committee as part of the investigation into the case of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The Clintons will testify remotely from their home in Chappaqua, New York, instead of at the Capitol in Washington. Hillary Clinton will be the first to testify on Thursday, followed by Bill on Friday, making him the first former president required to testify in a congressional investigation. The former presidential couple was summoned by the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Republican James Comer, to explain their ties to the pedophile, who died in prison in 2019. The testimonies of the two Democrats will be recorded on video, and it is expected that the footage will be made public later. Bill Clinton will have to answer for admitting to flying on Epstein's private jet several times. Hillary denies knowing Epstein but acknowledges having met several times with Ghislaine Maxwell, the magnate's accomplice, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Although the Clintons initially refused to testify before Congress, the threat of being held in contempt led the former presidential couple to agree to appear to explain their relationship with Epstein. They believed their summons was part of a Republican strategy to divert attention from US President Donald Trump, who also had ties to Epstein. They ultimately agreed to testify, and even Hillary Clinton dared the Republicans to broadcast it live. There is enormous anticipation for the details the former presidential couple will provide, as in her most recent testimony on February 17th in a BBC interview, Hillary Clinton accused the Trump administration of covering up for Epstein.
