Trump and Zelensky Clash During Press Conference

President of the USA Donald Trump abruptly concluded negotiations with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky after a sharp rebuttal in the Oval Office, where he told Zelensky that his performance did not demonstrate due respect, accusing him of being "in a difficult position" and "not having bargaining chips," advising him "you should show gratitude."

The meeting in the Oval Office on Friday became an arena for a stinging verbal exchange between the president of the USA and his Ukrainian counterpart, who appeared before journalists, prior to which their tone became sharp with each other. "You risk starting a Third World War... You need to negotiate or we will leave," Trump said, turning to Zelensky.

Trump also informed Zelensky that his soldiers had been insufficiently trained and that the USA wanted to see the completion of combat actions and the use of means for "various purposes, including restoration." In turn, the president of Ukraine told Trump that there should not be "agreements" with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, at the time when the parties are conducting negotiations on the cessation of hostilities after the invasion of Moscow.

Trump welcomed his Ukrainian counterpart in the White House on Friday to sign agreements on rare metals and discuss the end of the war with Russia; however, a representative from the White House stated that Zelensky and Trump did not sign agreements on rare metals. Their only meeting did not go smoothly.
