On Tuesday, a federal judge in Washington ordered the administration of President Donald Trump to return funds as foreign aid to contractors and grant recipients at the end of the fiscal year.
The judge issued this ruling after President Trump blocked funding for foreign aid programs, stating that Congress did not authorize the distribution of these funds.
In his ruling, the judge noted that such actions by the president are illegal, as Congress has the exclusive right to manage government spending.
"The president cannot override in his war with Congress, refusing to enforce the laws that Congress established," the judge remarked.
The court also noted that these funds are necessary for providing assistance in many countries suffering from conflicts and poverty.
