Trump Sees Gaza as a Real Estate Deal

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, declared on Friday that he considers the Gaza Strip as a "real estate transaction" and dismissed the need to deploy troops in that territory. This stance marks a shift from his initial plan, where he did not rule out sending military personnel to take control of the region. Trump expressed that the United States would act as an investor in the area and mentioned that he had recently urged Egypt and Jordan to host the inhabitants of Gaza to carry out a real estate project in the region.

In statements to the press in the Oval Office alongside Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, Trump stated that there is no rush to make any decision and that stability in the region could be achieved with limited investment, allowing other countries to invest later. The U.S. president's proposal to relocate Gaza residents to Jordan and Egypt has been rejected by several countries and organizations, including Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the Palestinian Authority, and the Arab League.

"There really is no rush," Trump reiterated, emphasizing his experience in the real estate sector. Furthermore, he assured that he has no plans to send troops to the region and that U.S. leadership in the real estate development of Gaza would contribute to peace without the need for direct military presence. "We wouldn't need soldiers at all; that would be handled by others, and the investments would also be managed by others," said the president.
