Trump Calls Helicopter Crash Avoidable in Washington

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, deeply lamented the accident that occurred in the early morning in Washington, just a few kilometers from the White House. In the incident, an American Airlines plane with 60 passengers and 4 crew members collided with a Black Hawk military helicopter carrying three soldiers, resulting in the tragic death of 67 people.

The new Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, who was just sworn into office the same day as the accident, agreed with the president that this tragedy "could have been avoided." He pointed out that, according to available information, there were no prior incidents on the flight paths of both aircraft or during their approach to the airport.

In his statements, Sean Duffy expressed his recognition of the emergency teams' work, calling the situation avoidable, and thanked the efforts put forth in the rescue operations. However, subsequently, from his personal account on the Truth Social platform, he added more reflections on the accident.

Trump, through official statements, lashed out at the helicopter crew and the control tower, stating that the tragedy could have been avoided. In his criticisms, he questioned the actions taken by both the military aircraft and the control personnel, raising questions about the lack of evasive maneuvers by the helicopter and the supposed inaction of the control tower.

In this context, the president extended his condolences to the families of the victims and urged a thorough investigation into the events to clarify the circumstances that triggered the tragic incident, emphasizing the importance of aviation safety. The nation is in mourning, and Trump, amidst his new term, faces one of the most difficult challenges of his presidency.
