Venezuelan Opposition Leader Speaks at Trump's Inauguration Ball

The Venezuelan opposition leader, Edmundo González Urrutia, participated in an inaugural gala for the swearing-in of U.S. President Donald Trump, where he expressed his confidence that freedom will prevail in Venezuela. During the event, González Urrutia called for the unity of the peoples of the Americas to strengthen democracy and liberties.

In a meeting that took place in a hotel in Washington, González Urrutia coincided with Argentine President Javier Milei, with whom he greeted enthusiastically. In his intervention, the opposition leader highlighted the unbreakable will of Venezuelans for freedom and the role of leader María Corina Machado in the fight to restore democracy in the country.

González Urrutia denounced the actions of Nicolás Maduro, whom he accused of attempting to turn the elections into a farce, although thanks to the mobilization of millions of Venezuelans, they managed to defend the victory with irrefutable evidence. The opposition leader was recognized by the U.S. as the legitimate winner of the elections on July 28 and has been praised by Trump as a fighter for freedom.

In his speech, González Urrutia emphasized that the fight for freedom in Venezuela goes beyond the national level, being a commitment to universal values shared by all the peoples of America. With the support of international allies and the solidarity of those present, the opposition leader confidently affirmed that freedom will prevail in Venezuela.

Edmundo González Urrutia is one of the Latino conservative leaders invited by Trump to the swearing-in ceremony, which will take place in the Capitol rotunda due to weather conditions.
