A tragedy occurred in the skies of the United States when an American Airlines passenger plane collided in mid-flight with an Army Blackhawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC. According to John Donnelly, the chief of the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department, the operation is transitioning from a rescue operation to a recovery operation for the bodies found.

Donnelly lamented the situation by confirming that so far 28 bodies have been found, 27 from the people aboard the plane and one from the helicopter. Authorities have reported that the airport will remain closed at least until 11 AM this Thursday due to ongoing search and rescue operations.

In a press conference, officials confirmed that there are no survivors and expressed their concern about the possibility that there may be no survivors from this tragic air accident. The priority now is to recover the remains of the victims to clarify what happened and provide support to the affected families.
